Professor David Kofi Essumang of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has said Ghana’s Environmental Policy document has failed to achieve its major targets because it lacks direction. The document, he said, also did not have clear objectives and specific guidelines to measure its achievement over a period of time, while there was no provision of funds and other resources to ensure its implementation.

The Auditor General’s Department is ready to present the documents of about 3,600 teachers to the Ministry of Finance for them to be paid their two years salary arrears.Earlier this year, three teacher unions; the Ghana National Association of Teacher (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), threatened to go on a strike if all outstanding monies owed them were not paid by the end of February 2016. A preliminary report on the Nationwide Research on Domestic Violence in Ghana has shown that "exposure to violence in childhood is strongly related to the likelihood of an individual being a victim or perpetrator of violence in adulthood".Poverty, unemployment and economic shocks were also identified as drivers of domestic violence in the research that covered 4,995 households.
